My Streets; My Way

I love to wander the neighbourhood and look at everything with new eyes each day. Cities have hidden nooks and crannies that display a light and spirit that is not evident in basic photographs. Sometimes it is a message from years gone by seen through the eyes of the past; and, other times it strikes me that some alleys are not the dark sinister passages they first appear, but become the box that holds the hopes or dreams of those who call them home. I often see lanes filled with memories that stir my own nostalgia for my old home town in Southern Manitoba.  And that is what art is to me - not just a picture but a feeling generated by the subject or colour choice. It is special, unique, and establishes a connection that may elude explanation but captures your heart.
